Explanation 用語の説明

国の労働に関する法律に基づかず、社会保障や雇用保証の対象となっていない労働形態のこと。事前の告知なく解雇される、不当な給与支払いを受ける、休暇が認められないなどの問題につながる。「非正規雇用」と訳される場合もあるが、法に則って労働契約を結ぶ契約社員やアルバイト・パートなどはインフォーマル雇用に含まれないため、必ずしも同義ではない。また、インフォーマル雇用はきちんと会社として登録されている企業等においても発生する可能性があることに注意する必要がある。

Workers in informal employment are a diverse group with different employment statuses (own-account workers, employers, contributing family workers, or waged workers) and different employment contexts (formal, informal, and household sectors), and the extent of informal employment is measured as the sum of all these workers, whether employed in the informal sector or under informal conditions outside the informal sector.
