Explanation 用語の説明
decent はロングマン現代英英辞典（LDOCE）によると "of a good enough standard or quality" や "following moral standards that are acceptable to society" といった定義となっており、SDGsの文脈では「労働に対して公正な対価が支払われ、心身の安全が確保され、労働者の家族を含め人としての生活が保障されるような仕事」という意味合いで捉えられる。「やりがいのある仕事」と訳されることも多いが、やりがいがあったとしてもその労働が心身に対して過大な負荷をかけるようであっては decent work とは言い難い。
Example 用例
Decent work means opportunities for everyone to get work that is productive and
delivers a fair income, security in the workplace and social protection for families, better prospects for personal development and social integration. A continued lack of decent work opportunities, insufficient investments and under-consumption lead to an erosion of the basic social contract underlying democratic societies: that all must share in progress.
